The Presidency has released a full list of members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman, ahead of the January 2027 elections.
The list, made public on Saturday morning, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, shows former Zamfara State governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari appointed director-general of the campaign, while Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State will serve as secretary of the council. Party Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda will also serve as a vice chairman.
APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were named deputy and assistant secretaries respectively.
President Tinubu, as chairman, will be supported by a body of advisers made up of Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
For zonal coordination, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abass and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni were assigned as deputy director-generals for the campaign in the south and north, working alongside Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole will handle mobilisation as deputy director-general, while the President’s Chief of Staff takes charge of administration in the same capacity. James Abiodun Faleke, who was central to the 2022/2023 campaign, returns as deputy director-general for election planning, coordination and monitoring.
Faleke will be assisted by zonal directors: Senator Olushola Adeyeye (South West), Dr Ngozi Olejeme (South South), Senator Uche Ekwunife (South East), Muntaqha Rabe (North West), Ahmed Muhammed Ketso (North Central) and Senator Sani Danladi (North East). Ms Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori will serve as secretaries of the election planning directorate.
The legal directorate will be led by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies. Other members named to the directorate are Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
On media and communications, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris Malagi will coordinate the directorate alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu. Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka were named coordinating deputy directors, while Abdulaziz AbdulAziz will work with Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufor as coordinating secretaries.
Segun Dada returns as Director of New Media, a role he also held in 2022, with Solomon Arowolo as Secretary, New Media. Five spokespersons were also named for the campaign, led by Dele Alake, alongside Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
Announcing the list, President Tinubu urged all council members to work tirelessly toward victory in the 2027 elections and called on directorate leaders to bring in other party members not formally listed on the council.
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress,” he said. “We are definitely out of the dark tunnel and are now at the cusp of reaping the benefits of a prosperous economy that will benefit all Nigerians. As we march into the campaign season, we have many achievements to trumpet, let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation. Let us soundly defeat all those forces who plan to take our country backwards.”
