Don’t Scrap SARS, Northern Youths Warn IGP

Youths in Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina and Zamfara States are currently staging a protest in support of the now-disbanded brutal Nigeria police unit, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.

The youths who took to the street of the various states in Northern Nigeria displaying placards with inscriptions such as -“Don’t scrap sars”, “Yahoo boys, kidnappers, bandits are behind #EndSARS”.-“Don’t scrap SARS, Reform it”.-“Say No to #ENDSARS. etc

Recall that youths in the southern part of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, are currently protesting against police brutality carried out by SARS operatives even as the Inspector General of Police announced the disbandment of the unit on Sunday.

On the other hand, many Nigerians have accused the northern youths of being paid to execute the rally. Someone pointed out that the participants can’t read and that some of them had their placards turned upside down.
