Troops of the 8 Division Garrison have targeted and neutralised several marauding terrorists belonging to a notorious group, responsible for various atrocious and heinous activities in Sokoto State.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu made this known in a statement issued today.
He said the feat was achieved on Tuesday, 24 October 2023, following the launch of a carefully planned and discreet offensive operation in Tukandu village.
The troops’ fierce onslaught terminated many of the terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds. In the following mop-up operations, troops recovered three AK-47 Rifles, one PKT Gun, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, 2 Rocket propelled Gun Bombs, and 9 motorcycles.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has lauded the troops, charging them to remain resolute and continue to escalate their operations against the terrorists to decimate and deny them the freedom of action.
