FG Reiterates Commitment To Improving Health Of Nigerians

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the operational health system in the country.

Patricia Deworitshe in a statement issued on Thursday, November 23, 2023, said, the Minister of State made the declaration during his official visit to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah, in Enugu Government’s house yesterday.

She said Dr. Alausa emphasised the importance of health care delivery as one of the key pillars of the present administration for the benefit of citizens.

He explained the Federal Government’s readiness to support the Federal Medical Institutions in the state in terms of funding and human developmental capacity to yield a positive result.

The Minister later solicited Governor Peter Mbah’s support to the Federal Government in its yearning to revitalise the Health Sector for the benefit of the general populace as a dividend of democracy.

In his response, Gov. Peter Mbah congratulated the minister on his well-deserved appointment, and he believes he will deliver successfully based on his pedigree & professional background.

The Governor assured the Minister of the willingness and commitment of Enugu State to collaborate and foster the area of rebuilding the healthcare delivery system in Enugu State and provide comprehensive care to each citizenry.

In attendance were the commissioner of health in Enugu State, Prof. Ikechukwu Obi, Dr. David Atuwo Senior Technical Assistant to the Minister, Dr. Ismail Adiatu Senior Special Assistant to the Minister, Mr Lanre Lamina Special Assistant to the Minister, and other Government functionaries.
