The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. has assured Nigerians that there is no imminent increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
Mr. Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPC Ltd.who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, February 8, 2024, urged Nigerians to disregard the unfounded rumours, and assured them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.
He, therefore, advised motorists nationwide not to engage in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.
There were reported cases of scarcity in some parts of Lagos State on Monday as many filling stations refused to dispense the product to motorists apparently thinking there will be an increment.
