President Bola Tinubu has sacked the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Mr. Mamman Ahmadu.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
He explained that his sack was part of a larger reorganization effort in the public procurement system to reposition the agency for greater efficiency and transparency.
President Tinubu directed the Director-General to hand over to the most senior officer in the Bureau, pending the appointment of a new Director-General.
He thanked Mr. Ahmadu for his services and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Recall that Mr. Ahmadu was appointed in 2016 by the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari to head the BPP.
However, his appointed was opposed by the Network for the Actualisation of Social Growth and Viable Development (NEFGAD) for not following the proper procedure outlined in the BPP Act 2007.
