AFN Vanguard Of Economic Stability – Finance Minister

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, has commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) for keeping the country together and protecting democracy at all cost.

A statement on Tuesday, by the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, says Mr. Edun made the commendations while on a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen. Christopher Musa, at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The minister said the efforts of the AFN will allow the economy to thrive while businesses prosper, adding that with the protection of life and properties, people will have a decent life to live.

Mr. Edun further saluted the huge sacrifices of the military to securing the country, while maintaining that the nation’s economy is in the right direction. He affirmed that there are enough positive indicators showing desired results in the economic performance of the present administration.

Earlier, the CDS, expressed appreciation to the minister for his support to the AFN towards the unhindered discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

He added that to a great extent, the military has been able to decimate the activities of terrorists, insurgents and other criminals operating in the country.

According to him, the AFN in collaboration with other security agencies is working tirelessly to ensure the safety of critical government assets and to ensure increase in oil production, which will in turn boost economic activities.
