Recall that In November 2025, the Bola Tinubu-led presidency had appealed to the United States to deploy its military to help Nigeria fight terrorism in some states of the federation.

Following the request, on December 25, 2025, an airstrike was conducted by the US in collaboration with Nigerian authoritie which targeted terrorist positions in the country’s North West.

According to AFRICOM,, the delivery underscores the United States’ continued commitment to strengthening its security partnership with Nigeria.
