Army Chief Vows To Crackdown On Igboho, Dokubo, Other Agitators

The Chief of Army Staff COAS, Lt Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, has vowed to crack down on Asari Dokubo and Sunday Igboho, promoters of Biafra and Odudua Republics respectively, as well as other agitators in the country.

The COAS, who made this vow while delivering a lecture during the first Commanding Officers’ Workshop 2021 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, said the Army would deal decisively with every form of security threats confronting the nation.

TheFact Nigeria reports that ex-Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, had renewed cessation agitation by forming the Biafra De factor Customary Government for the entire South-South region. Similarly, the self-styled Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, in his separationist agenda, had called for the cessation of the entire Southwest from Nigeria, declaring the region as Odudua Republic

The Army Chief said that the Nigerian Army under his leadership would remain proactive and jointly work with other security agencies to decisively deal with threats facing the nation.

“The Nigerian Army under my watch remains resolute and is poised more than ever before to decisively deal with individuals or groups that threaten the peace, security and stability of our great nation,” he vowed.
