The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, will host the third edition of The Expatriates Business Awards (TEBA) in Abuja as part of efforts to recognise the contributions of foreign businesses and expatriate communities to Nigeria’s economy.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for August 20 and Odumegwu-Ojukwu will serve as the Chief Host, while Keyamo will host the event.
Also expected at the ceremony are the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, as Special Guest of Honour, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mahmud Adam Kambari, alongside diplomats, senior government officials, business executives and members of the diplomatic corps.
Speaking ahead of the event, Director of Awards, Odunola Abayomi, on Friday said the annual ceremony has become Nigeria’s leading platform for recognising expatriate investors, foreign missions, international organisations and migrant communities whose investments and partnerships have contributed to national development.
“The Expatriates Business Awards has evolved into Nigeria’s foremost platform for recognizing the invaluable contributions of expatriate investors, foreign missions, international organizations, and migrant communities whose investments, innovation, and partnerships continue to create jobs, promote technology transfer, and stimulate sustainable economic growth across the country,” she said.
Abayomi noted that this year’s edition would place greater emphasis on strengthening Nigeria’s engagement with the international business community through economic diplomacy and strategic partnerships.
“This year’s edition promises to be bigger and more impactful as we honour individuals and organizations whose commitment to Nigeria has inspired confidence in our economy and strengthened bilateral and multilateral relationships. We are particularly honoured to have the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, as our Chief Host, reflecting the growing importance of international partnerships in Nigeria’s development agenda,” she added.
She further described TEBA as a platform that promotes excellence, encourages foreign investment and deepens international cooperation by celebrating organisations and individuals making significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic development.
Organisers said the event will feature award presentations, cultural displays, networking sessions and entertainment aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s cultural diversity while fostering stronger ties between the country and the global business community.
They added that the ceremony is expected to bring together key stakeholders from government, the diplomatic community and the private sector to celebrate excellence and reinforce international partnerships.
