TCN Schedules Maintenance At Ajaokuta Transmission Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has scheduled annual preventive maintenance at its 330/132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Substation for Tuesday, September 15, 2026, running from 9am to 4pm, and has urged affected electricity customers to bear with the disruption.

TCN, in a statement on Monday said the exercise would allow TCN’s crew to carry out preventive maintenance on the 162MVA, 330/132kV power transformer, along with associated switch gear and ancillary equipment at the substation.

As a result, it said the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to supply electricity to customers in Ekirin, Omuo, Ibillo, Akoko, Ogala, Ikare, Magongo, Okene Town, Ayere, Kabba and surrounding areas during the maintenance window.

Likewise, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) would be unable to supply electricity to customers in Okpella Town, BUA Cement Company, West African Fertilizer Company, Dibeks Milling Company, Edestein Company, Freedom Group Company, Ososo, Uluoke, Iyora, Apana, Okpekpe, Arigidi, Ikare Town, Lampese, Igara, Oka and environs.

The company said power would be restored to all affected areas once the maintenance work is completed.

TCN has apologised for the inconvenience the planned exercise may cause and thanked customers for their understanding and cooperation.
