Disclosing this on Thursday, the Command said the operations, carried out under Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, also led to the recovery of large quantities of suspected illicit drugs, dangerous weapons and three suspected stolen mobile phones.
In Panshekara, 21 suspected drug dealers were arrested in three separate operations with substances including Pregabalin, Exol, Diazepam and Cannabis Sativa. Another suspect was arrested in Kiru Division with 105 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other substances believed to be hard drugs.
Police also arrested 13 suspected Yan Daba members in Hotoro and 10 others in the Yan Yashi/Kofar Ruwa axis of Dala LGA. Recovered from the groups were swords, cutlasses, axes, knives, clubs, sharp iron rods and suspected illicit drugs, including 216 bottles of “Suck and Die” substance.
Meanwhile, the Special Intervention Squad arrested two suspected phone snatchers near Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and recovered three Android phones and a tricycle allegedly used in their operations. The suspects reportedly confessed to dispossessing passengers of their phones through pickpocketing.
The police said all suspects are undergoing investigation and will be charged to court upon completion. The Commissioner urged residents to continue providing credible information to the police while warning criminals to desist from crime or face the law.
