The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) has admitted two of the country’s most influential figures in insurance and financial services to its fellowship.
They are: the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, and Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions.
The induction took place on Wednesday at a gala dinner hosted by the Council in Abuja.
NAICOM, in a statement on Thursday, said the event brought together prominent stakeholders from Nigeria’s insurance, banking and wider financial services sectors.
The Commission said the fellowship is one of the highest honours the Council gives, adding that it recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth, development and advancement of the insurance industry and the financial services sector in Nigeria.
It said addressing the guests, the NCRIB President commended the two inductees for their outstanding leadership, professionalism and commitment to strengthening the nation’s financial ecosystem.
NAICOM said the dinner also gave regulators, policymakers, industry leaders and practitioners a platform to discuss key issues affecting the insurance sector.
According to the Commission, participants stressed the need for stronger collaboration to improve insurance penetration and financial inclusion across the country.
The Council said Mr. Omosehin’s induction underscores his contributions to the transformation and regulation of Nigeria’s insurance industry.
Senator Abiru, on his part, was recognised for supporting legislative initiatives that promote the growth and stability of the financial services sector.
