The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has said that the probe into the alleged indictment of DCP Abba Kyari by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, being conducted by the NPF Special Investigation Panel (SIP), is still ongoing.
This was disclosed late yesterday, 17 August, in a press release issued by the Police Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, CP Frank Mba.
TheFact Nigeria notes that this public alert is coming on the heels of reports to the contrary, being widely circulated by some news outlets and online platforms, which report that the DIG Joseph Egbunike led SpeciaI Investigation Panel into the Hushpuppi allegations against former Commander of Police Intelligence Response Team, has submitted its report.
‘Members of the public are enjoined to note that the panel has not submitted its report to the Inspector General of Police, as being wrongly reported in some news outlet and online platforms’, Mba said.
The Force has, however, assured the public that the outcome of investigations by the probe panel would be ‘communicated accordingly upon conclusion of the investigations’.
