The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his reelection as Governor of Ekiti State, describing the victory as historic.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said Oyebanji’s victory was significant as he became the first incumbent governor to secure reelection in the state’s contemporary democratic history.
The party described the outcome as a clear demonstration of the confidence the Ekiti people have in Oyebanji’s leadership, noting his people–centred policies and commitment to the state’s development as key factors behind the victory.
The APC also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a successful electoral process, and praised the people of Ekiti State for what it called a peaceful and enthusiastic participation in the election.
The party further expressed gratitude to the Ekiti residents for their continued support and the endorsement of the APC and its policies.
According to the statement, the party expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s second term would bring further development and improved living conditions for Ekiti people, as the governor continues to key into President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the state level.
