Kaduna Govt Finalises $28m Deal To Address Problem Of Out-Of-School Children

The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has disclosed that it is finalising a $28 million grant deal from Kuwaiti Fund to address the problem of Out-Of-School Children in the state.

Senator Sani disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Chief Wale Edun on Thursday.

He said, “we are currently finalising our agreement with the Kuwaiti Fund for a 28 Million Dollar Grant to address the problem of Out-Of-School Children in Kaduna State”.

According to him, the visit was for them to share their thoughts on strategies for revitalising the Nigerian economy, and collaboration between the Kaduna State Government, and the Federal Government to address the problem of out-of-school children, tackle poverty and unemployment, boost agriculture, revitalise the rural economies, and wage sustained battle against insecurity.

The governor said, their discussions also touched on the government’s efforts in equipping Kaduna State citizens, especially youths with technical skills to make them employable through the establishment of three Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition Cities in Rigachikun, Samarun Kataf, and Soba.

He said, not left out was the State Government’s aggressive investment drive which was already yielding dividends.

Speaking, the Minister of Finance expressed the commitment of the Federal Government to partner with the Kaduna State Government to address its key developmental and security challenges.

He commiserated with the government and people of Kaduna State over the unfortunate Tudun Biri military drone attack and prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and speedy recovery for the injured.
