Katsina Govt Bolster Security In Eight LGAs

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Radda, has presented 10 armoured personnel carriers to boost security in 8 local government areas of the State.

The presentation of the vehicles, aimed at bolstering security in the State, took place on Monday, 15th April, 2024, at the Katsina State Government House.

TheFact Daily reports that factors such as insecurity and banditry have negatively affected food security in the State. These negative impacts include killing and kidnapping of farmers, chasing of farmers out of their farmlands, seizing of farmlands, theft of cattle, burning and raiding of grain silos, and blocking of local trade routes.

In his address, the Governor emphasized that he has followed through on his commitment to equip the Katsina Community Watch and the joint operation led by the police with all the necessary resources, noting that during his campaign, he pledged to provide the people of Katsina State with the essential skills, tactics, and strategies to ensure their security.

While acknowledging that insecurity in the State had yet to be completed eradicated, Governor Radda assured the people that significant progress has been made and the pursuit of peace in Katsina State will not waver.

The frontline local government areas that got allocated the vehicles include: Safana, Batsari, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, and Jibia LGA’s.
