Meet Hassan Imam, Newly Appointed MD/CEO Of Keystone Bank

Hassan Imam.

Hassan Imam is the newly appointed Managing Director and CEO of Keystone Bank, after the dissolution of the board and management of the bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Wednesday.

Imam took over the leadership of the bank from Olaniran Olayinka, who served as CEO from March 2020 until yesterday.

Prior to joining Keystone Bank, Hassan Imam was the CEO and Managing Director of Bangladesh RACE Management PCL, the largest Asset Management Company in Bangladesh.

With over 25 years of experience in the banking sector, Imam has a strong background in leadership and management.
He previously held the following roles before joining Keystone Bank: Managing Director at Bhuiyan Global Network, Customer Success Manager at Mitel, and Customer Liaison Manager at R-Pac International Corp.

Imam is known for his relentless energy and drive towards the pursuit of excellence. He has a diverse range of skills, including building and motivating high-performance teams, developing strategies, and solving tactical issues.

Meanwhile, CBN said, the dissolution of the board and management became necessary due to the non-compliance of the bank and board with the provisions of Section 12(c), (f), (g), (h) of Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act, 2020.

CBN said, the Bank’s infractions vary from regulatory non-compliance, corporate governance failure, disregarding the conditions under which their licenses were granted, and involvement in activities that pose a threat to financial stability, among others.
