The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, has intensified ongoing offensives against terrorist elements in the North-East.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, disclosed this in a statement issued on 20 May 2026, saying that precision airstrikes were executed on 19 May at Bukar Meram in the Southern Tumbuns and Chikide in the Mandara Mountains.
The airstrikes executed following credible intelligence and confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, targeted terrorist logistics hubs, structures and assembly areas concealed within the enclaves. Several terrorists were neutralised, while planned attacks were also disrupted during the operations.
Speaking on the renewed offensive, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustained joint operations with sister services and allied partners aimed at eliminating terrorism and restoring peace across the country.
According to the CAS, intelligence-driven air operations will continue to identify and destroy terrorist hideouts, logistics networks and operational bases wherever they exist.
