The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has expressed grief over the passing of Barrister Rotimi Edu, an illustrious Past President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
In a condolence message on Saturday by the Commissioner for Insurance/Chief Executive, NAICOM, Mr. Ayo Omosehin, the Commission as Barr. Edu was not only a towering figure in the insurance broking profession, but also a visionary leader whose tenure as President of NCRIB left an indelible mark on the industry.
He said his brilliance, foresight, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of insurance practice in Nigeria distinguished him as one of the most impactful leaders of his generation.
The NAICOM boss described him as a man of uncommon intellect and boundless energy, a cauldron of ideas, and a passionate advocate for reform and innovation.
According to him, even in the face of personal health challenges, Barr. Edu’s devotion to the Council and the insurance industry remained steadfast, reflecting his deep love for the profession and his unyielding commitment to service.
He noted that the void created by his departure was immense, not only for his family and the Quicklink team but also for the NCRIB and the entire insurance community. His legacy of integrity, courage, and progressive leadership will continue to inspire generations of practitioners.
“On behalf of the National Insurance Commission, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire insurance industry. We pray that Almighty God grants his loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss and that He receives Barr. Edu’s noble soul into eternal rest,” Mr Omosehin said.
