Nigeria Will Surely Be Safe, CDS Assures

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has assured that Nigeria will be safe despite the current challenges the country is facing.

General Musa gave the assurance on Friday, 1 September 2023, when he paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) at its Headquarters located at the Central Mosque, Abuja.

The CDS said, his visit to the Islamic leaders was to convey good tidings from the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the entire Muslim Ummahs, as well as to profoundly thank them for their relentless prayers towards the AFN and the nation in general.

General Musa also added that the AFN was highly united and committed to the civil authority, and to protecting democracy in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the National President of the NSCIA, His Eminence, Sultan Abubakar Muhammad Saad, who was represented by Barrister Haroun Muhammad Eze, consoled the CDS on the recent loss of Military personnel in a plane crash at Niger State.

Barrister Haroun Eze added that the NSCIA has always prayed for the military in its fight against insurgency and terrorism, and called for a peaceful resolution to the political situation in the neighboring Niger Republic.
