Police Service Commission Announces Dates For Nationwide Recruitment Aptitude Test

By Anne Osemekeh, Abuja

The Police Service Commission has announced April 28 to 30, 2026, as the dates for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) for candidates in the ongoing police recruitment exercise.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Nigeria Police Force, through the Sokoto State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, described the test as a decisive stage in the recruitment process.

Recall that the Force, on March 9, began the nationwide 2026 physical and credential screening for 50,000 constables, an exercise scheduled to end on April 18. The test will be conducted across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The Computer-Based Aptitude Test is a critical phase designed to ensure that only suitably qualified candidates are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force,” Rufa’i stated.

He explained that the duration of the test in each state would depend on the number of candidates and the availability of functional CBT centres, noting that some states may complete the exercise in one day, while others could require the full three-day window.

“The scheduling is flexible to accommodate operational realities across states, but every eligible candidate will be given a fair opportunity to participate,” he added.

He urged applicants to remain calm and await further details on venue allocation and the official list of successful candidates, while also warning against misinformation.

According to him, all updates regarding the exercise will be released through verified platforms, adding that the ongoing recruitment drive is part of efforts to strengthen the manpower and operational capacity of the Force.
