Promise Kept: NEMA Distributes Food Donated By Saudi Arabia To 3,972 Borno IDPs

The Federal Government has flagged off the distribution of food items donated to the Internally Displaced Persons, (IDPs) in Borno State by Saudi Arabia.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Hadiza Farouq flagged-off the distribution.

The items were for donation to 3,972 households of IDPs, from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

The National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) would distribute the food items to the Borno IDPs, the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, Ibraheem Algham revealed.

@nemanigeria wrote: “The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development @Sadiya_farouq has flagged-off distribution of food items donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre @KSRelief_EN for 3, 972 households of IDPs in Borno State.

“The Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ibraheem Alghamedi who represented the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre at the ceremony said NEMA would distribute the items to the IDPs.

“The Director General of Borno State Emergency Management Agency Hajja Yabawa Kolo appreciated the KS Relief for the donation. The items distributed were bags of Rice ,Beans, masavita and condiments (groundnutoil,seasoning, tomatoes and salt).”

Recall that in late March, the Director General of NEMA AVM MA Muhammed (rtd) received the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, His Excellency Ibraheem Alghamedi.

The duo discussed about preparations to distribute humanitarian support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre @KSRelief_EN for persons affected by banditry in Zamfara State and Internally Displaced Persons affected by insurgency in Borno and Yobe States.
