Daura University To Commence Academic Activity September – Amaechi

The Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has said academic activities at the University of Transportation, Daura would commence in September 2022.

The Minister disclosed this on Monday while inspecting the level of work at the university in Daura, Katsina State.

TheFact Nigeria reports that the ground breaking ceremony for the project was performed by President Muhammadu on December 2, 2019.

According to the Minister, “they said it’s remaining seven buildings and those seven buildings should be ready before September. I have asked the Permanent Secretary to invite them to a meeting so that this school can start functioning by September,” he said.

On the level of work at Dala inland dry port in Kano, Amaechi said, “if you say am not impressed that will be a wrong word. They promised me that they will complete by today.

“Have they completed the structures yes but I didn’t see the land scaping, so I said until you complete the landscaping, I will not be able to bring the President here.

“If they complete the landscaping then we can bring the President to come and commission. But have they finished all their structures, it appears they have finished their structures.

When asked what he plans to do about those erecting structures around the Dala inland dry port, he said, “Well until I speak with the governor I can’t respond to that. I know that it is the responsibility of the governor to give us an unencumbered land despite the fact we have paid.

“So if there are problems we are encountering, we are encountering problems, that is not in dispute. But I think that the best thing to resolve those dispute will be the governor of the state, he said.
