FCT Police Recover N31m Vandalized Infrastructure, Make Arrests

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recovered critical electricity power cables valued at over ₦31 million and arrested several suspects involved in vandalism of public infrastructure and drug-related activities in Abuja.
According to the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh in a starement on Tuesday, the arrests followed sustained, intelligence-led operations carried out across Mabushi, Maitama and the Central Business District under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye.
Adeh listsd other items recovered from the suspects to include, drainage covers, electrical transformers and large quantities of substances suspected to be cannabis sativa, noting that the criminal acts had caused widespread disruption to electricity and internet services, while also posing serious risks to public safety and daily life within the affected areas.
Adeh stated that the Command remains to combating vandalism and related crimes, stressing that efforts are ongoing to track down not only those who carry out the theft of public infrastructure but also the receivers and buyers of such stolen assets.
