The Kwara State Government have announced that schools across the state can now reopen from Monday February 2, 2026.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state’s Press Secretary,
Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Peter Amogbonjaye on Sunday.
TheFact Daily gathered that Kwara State had been the epicenter of abductions in recent times with scores of killings and abduction of citizens from worship places prompting the decision to stall reopening of schools for fear of tragedy.
Amogbonjaye however said school authorities had been notified of the decision which came amid continuous security operations to neutralise all threats to the public, including schools.
“The government deems the situation now to be a lot better than it was before. Even so, we continue to maintain vigilance.
“Security operations continue steadily to sustain the gains of the past weeks while the government builds community resilience along with the kinetic efforts”, he said.
