Electricity customers in Bida and several surrounding communities will experience a temporary power outage on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out annual preventive maintenance at its 132/33kV Transmission Substation in the town.
According to a statement from TCN on Wednesday, the exercise would run from 8am to 1pm and would involve maintenance work on a 60MVA 132/33kV transformer and its associated switchgear
As a result, TCN said the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to supply power to customers in Bida Town, Army Barracks, Agaie, Doko, Baro, Zago, Emi Rani, Bussu, Laugba Goshigi, Lafiyagi Essa, Amgulu, Mansantali, Agaie Town, Low Cost, Masaga, and other nearby villages for the duration of the maintenance work.
TCN said power supply would be restored to all affected areas as soon as the maintenance exercise is completed, and apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused.
