The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the murder of a retired Air Vice-Marshal, Muhammad Maisaka, and his grandchild by gunmen at their residence in Ragasi, Igabi Local Government Area of the State.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, 9 November, 2021, the State’s Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Jalige, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, adding that Maisaka’s gateman sustained injuries from the attack.
TheFact Nigeria reports that the wife of the slain Maisaka, Fatima Maisaka, while confirming the incident, said the gunmen killed the retired Air vice-marshal and his 27-year-old grandson, Mohammed Musa, in their living room.
“They only came into the parlour and killed them both without taking any of our belongings. In fact, they left our phones with us,” she said.
Jalige said that when the information was received, the Commissioner of Police, Mudassiru Abdullah, directed the Divisional Police Officer and the Area Commander to the scene.
Jalige disclosed that the corpse had been evacuated to the hospital while the gateman had also been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
While assuring that details of the incident would be made available to the public soon, Jalige appealed to Kaduna residents to come forward with useful and timely information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.
