By Sunday Etuka

The Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN) has restored power on the Benin-Omotosho 330kV Transmission Line, ending an outage that had disrupted electricity supply to parts of Southern Nigeria for over a week.

Power was restored at 7:05 pm on Thursday, 2nd July 2026, TCN said in a statement issued on Friday by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah.

The outage occurred on 25th June 2026, after conductors on the line became detached. TCN engineers subsequently worked to restring the affected sections and carry out necessary maintenance before returning the line to service.
