
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu and the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Ayo Omotayo, have held talks aimed at strengthening institutional ties between the NIPSS and the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in the areas of national security, strategic leadership, capacity development, and policy support.
According to a statement made available today by the Force, the meeting held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, when the IGP received the DG at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to explore areas of mutual collaboration.
Speaking during the visit, Omotayo, who was accompanied on the visit by Leye Oyebade and Garba Malumfashi, averred that NIPSS, under the supervision of the Presidency, remains Nigeria’s foremost policy think tank and apex platform for strategic reflection, research, and dialogue aimed at shaping national governance.
In his response, IGP Disu appreciated the visit and stressed the importance of collaboration between the Police and policy institutions in advancing national security objectives, reaffirming the Force’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, capacity building, and ongoing reforms.
He further assured the delegation of the Police Force’s readiness to partner with NIPSS in driving research, policy formulation, and leadership development initiatives, reiterating the Force’s broader commitment to fostering partnerships that enhance safety and security across Nigeria.
