
The Kano State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who was killed while distributing items at an empowerment programme in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the police, in liaison with other security agencies, aims to identifying and apprehending those responsible for the incident which occurred on March 13, 2026.
TheFact Daily had earlier reported that suspected hoodlums stormed the empowerment event organized by the member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, causing chaos that led to the fatal attack on the civil defence operative.
The officer was rushed to the General Hospital in Tudun Wada where he was confirmed dead, before his remains were later deposited at the morgue of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
The police commissioner assured the public that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring that those behind the attack are brought to justice.
The command also extended its condolences to the family of the deceased officer and the Civil Defence Corps, urging members of the public to cooperate with investigators as efforts continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
CP Bakori, on behalf of the Command, appreciated the continued support of residents in the fight against crime and assured that further developments will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
