The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration to strengthen national security.
Anemd made the reaffirmation during the visit of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to Headquarters Nigerian Air Force in Abuja on March 25, 2026, as part of ongoing engagements among security chiefs to enhance coordination.
The meeting comes on the heels of the IGP’s earlier visit to Army Headquarters, where the Chief of Army Staff stressed the need for unified operations, intelligence sharing and joint responses as critical tools in combating terrorism, banditry and other internal security threats.
Aneke described the visit as timely, noting that Nigeria’s evolving security environment requires closer cooperation, improved intelligence integration and coordinated operational strategies among agencies.
He congratulated Disu on his appointment and highlighted the longstanding partnership between the Air Force and the Police in counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, anti-banditry and infrastructure protection, assuring of sustained support to boost operational effectiveness.
The CAS also emphasised that strengthened synergy across security agencies remains key to achieving lasting peace and improved security outcomes nationwide, while the IGP commended the Air Force’s professionalism and pledged continued collaboration.
