Just In: Messi Announces Argentina Exit After Illustrious International Career

Argentina football superstar Lionel Messi on Monday announced his decision to leave the national team, bringing an end to one of the most celebrated international careers in football history.
The 39-year-old made the announcement in an Instagram post, saying the decision was painful but acknowledging that “the time has come.” Messi said he had always given his best for the national team and fought to bring joy and pride to Argentines through football.
Messi, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, said he was leaving with “peace of mind and pride” after achieving, alongside his teammates, moments they had once only dreamed of.
“I swear to you that I always gave it my all,” Messi said, recalling not only the team’s recent successes but also the years of struggle before Argentina’s major triumphs.
