The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is strengthening its strategic partnership with China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) to enhance air defence, expand radar coverage and promote technology transfer.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, stated this on Thursday while receiving NORINCO’s Senior Vice President, Qiang Wenyu, and his delegation at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja.
Aneke described the partnership as valuable, commending NORINCO for its support and willingness to facilitate technology transfer.
He emphasised the need to develop indigenous capabilities and expressed confidence in the corporation’s air defence solutions, citing the NAF’s familiarity with its systems and opportunities for personnel training.
He said the collaboration could improve operational effectiveness, strengthen airspace surveillance and support the sustainable development of Nigeria’s air defence capabilities.
