
Nigeria will resume the evacuation of her Nationals from South Africa today.
Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
TheFact Daily recalls that the Federal Government had successfully evacuated 258 fleeing Nigerians due to spate of ongoing xenophobic attacks and a deadline for foreigners to depart South Africa on or before June 30, 2026.
According to Ebienfa, an Air Peace aircraft will depart Nigeria today, Monday, 29th June 2026, at 3:00 pm, and is expected to arrive in South Africa at approximately 9:00 pm local time.
The return flight is scheduled to depart South Africa at 12:00 midnight and is expected to arrive Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Tuesday morning.
The first batch of returnees arrived at the International Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Thursday, 11th June 2026 at about 10.25AM.
