The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has trained 50 women in Kano State on inverter and battery technologies, as part of efforts to expand female participation in Nigeria’s clean energy sector.
The three-day training, which concluded on Wednesday, at the Technology Incubation Centre, Farm Centre, Kano, according to a statement by the agency on Thursday, was organised under NASENI’s She-Powers Energy Initiative.
TheFact Daily reports that the initiative was designed to give participants hands-on renewable energy skills with the aim of fostering women-led enterprises and improving livelihoods.
NASENI Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Khalil Halilu, under whose leadership the initiative was launched, said the programme reflects the agency’s broader commitment to harnessing technology and innovation for economic and social development.
The She-Powers Energy Initiative also aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises job creation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic growth.
NASENI said the training was part of a wider strategy of targeted interventions to drive sustainable development across the country.
