NiDCOM Denies Involvement In ₦40m Diaspora Mortgage Scheme

Thehe Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) ha denied being involved in a purported ₦40 million mortgage pre-financing scheme involving HXAFRICA and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

This is according to a statement issued by the Agency’s Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun on Friday.

It read, “Disclaimer Re: ₦40 million Diaspora Mortgage Pre-financing By HXAFRICA and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

“This is to warn members of the public that the above post is false and fraudulent.

“Any announcement on the diaspora mortgage pre-financing will be made by both theFMBN  and NiDCOM on the websites and social media handles of both agencies.

“While the company has applied to be part of the proposed programme, it has not been granted any approval.”

NiDCOM, disclosed, stated that it was concluding arrangements with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CNN) to ensure the protection of potential beneficiaries of the scheme, further warning the public against falling victim to fraudsters.

“To ensure the protection of potential beneficiaries of the Diaspora mortgage scheme, both agencies are at the final stage of concluding arrangements with the CBN.

“Please beware of fraudsters and await genuine information only from the FMBN or NiDCOM, or both,” it said.
