Economic Reforms: The Worst Is Over, Says President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu, has declared that the worst resulting from the economic reforms introduced by his administration is over.

Tinubu made the declaration while speaking on Tuesday at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre in Owerri, where he inaugurated multiple projects and celebrated Imo State’s development under Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Addressing a gathering consist of Senators, governors, traditional rulers, and other citizens, Tinubu emphasized his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, hailing Imo’s transformation as a model for Nigeria’s future.

Speaking at the commissioning of the state-of-the-art 6,000-capacity conference center, Tinubu declared, “Imo State is a shining example of what purposeful leadership can achieve. Under Governor Uzodimma, we see roads rebuilt, commerce thriving, and hope restored. This is the Nigeria we are building, where every state rises through hard work and collaboration”.

His remarks drew thunderous applause from dignitaries, including the Sultan of Sokoto and the Obi of Onitsha.

Tinubu highlighted the newly reconstructed 60-kilometer Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Federal Road, calling it “a lifeline for the Southeast”.

He noted its potential to boost trade with neighboring State, stating, “This road is more than infrastructure; it’s a bridge to prosperity, connecting markets, families, and dreams”.

He also praised the Flyover and the Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel, describing them as “symbols of progress that elevate Imo’s status as a tourism and economic hub”.

The President further said, “Our Renewed Hope Agenda is about tangible results, better roads, modern facilities, and opportunities for our youth. The Imo Digital Learning Centre we’ve commissioned today will empower the next generation to compete globally”.

He urged Nigerians to remain patient, promising that ongoing reforms would yield economic stability and growth.

Tinubu also launched Governor Uzodimma’s book, Titled A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria, calling it “a testament to APC’s commitment to transforming lives.”

According to him, “This book isn’t just a record; it’s a challenge to keep pushing forward, from Buhari’s foundation to the Nigeria we’re shaping today.”

Closing his speech, Tinubu commended Uzodimma’s “3R” governance model which are Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, and Recovery; urging other states to emulate it.

“Imo has shown that progress is possible when leaders prioritize the people. Let’s replicate this across Nigeria,” he said.
