ICPC Gets New Spokesperson

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has appointed Mr. John Okor Odey, a Deputy Director, as its new spokesperson.

Secretary to the Commission, Mr. Clifford Okparaodu, who disclosed this on Thursday, said Odey, who succeeds Mr. Demola Bakare, will also lead the ICPC’s newly established Media and Public Communications Unit under the Office of the Chairman.

“The Commission anticipates that Mr. Odey’s extensive expertise in communication will strengthen ICPC’s public engagement, enhance media relations, and support ongoing efforts to deepen transparency and public awareness of its anti-corruption mandate”, Oparaodu stated.

Mr. Odey has served in several strategic capacities across Public Enlightenment, Protocol, and Zonal Operations. His career spans media and public communication, protocol, strategic messaging, and reputation management.

He holds a degree in English/Literature, Masters Degree in Leadership Studies, and MPhil Leadership and Strategic Studies, in addition to a Professional Diploma in Public Relations. Mr. Odey is also a certified member of key professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
